DIY-How to make your own stamping platform with inexpensive items you may have in your home.

 We were all so sad when Stampin' Up was forced by that other company to discontinue our "beloved" Stamparatus.

Well you know what they say, Necessity is the mother of invention. 

So here we have it!!  A homemade stamping platform that may be a bit primitive but it serves the purpose.

Make a Starburst using scraps of DSP

Scraps, Scraps and more Scraps.  We all have them, right???  Then why not use them in many different way to create beautiful backgrounds for cards.  This is just what I did with this card.

You will need quite a few pieces cut into 3/4" strips.  I cut mine 6" long but you will need different lengths as you run them around your card mat.

Split Technique done two ways

 Every now and then you run across something that just kinda speaks to your heart, mind & soul.  This happened to me when I receive a text message from Pinterest.  There she was in all her glory...."The Star of Ohio."  

I just knew I had to transform this into a card. So I got  busy and was able to knock it out before pretty quickly.

 How did this all start?  Well I needed something for my live today, a friend had been doing these Pinwheel cards and posting them on Facebook.  So, I ask her if I could make these on my Live today and she said of course.

Announcing Color Refresh and introduction of new In-Colors for 2023-2025

We knew it was coming.  In some ways we dreaded it and in other ways we were excited about it....you may ask yourself, "what ever is she talking about?"

Once every 3-5 years Stampin' Up does a color refresh!!  They retire some of our basic colors and bring in some new and exciting ones.  

Please take a moment to watch the video below.  There you will see directly from Stampin' Up what colors are going and what colors are staying.

Lattice Card-Happy Birthday Featuring Irresistible Blooms Stamp & Dies

 Who doesn't love beautiful summer flowers running up a trellis/lattice. It is a beautiful site to behold and everyone loves flowers in full bloom.

Today's card gives that special beauty of a lattice with beautiful flowers.  I used basic white thick cardstock with the pop of color from the flowers and greenery really does give a pretty scene.

 I have been on this kick with the making of Quilt Cards and they have been so much fun.  This one kind of tricks the eye to belive that one square is hiding behind the other.  You will find this card so easy to make because I have included a diagram in the pdf tutorial.  You can find the link for that below.  So happy quilting...ooops I meant card making!!

Wedding Ring Quilt Card featuring

 Nothing is as lovely as a beautiful handmade quilt.  The detail, every stitch painstakingly made with love.  Well, you might be saying, I don't sew and I certainly don't know how to make a quilt.  If this is you, then perhaps the beauty of quilting with paper would appeal to you.

In this card, we are taking the idea of the classic wedding ring pattern to a card front.  Once you master this technique, you can change it up with different colors of cardstock and DSP to make it whatever you want it to be.  This is the beauty of papercrafting!!

 I'm so glad you were able to join us for the live event today.  If you were not able to make it, not to worry.  You can always watch the replay at anytime.

I showed how you can make a card using whatever you have on hand.  It is easy to find paper that will coordinate with your cardstock.  This is especially so if you are familiar with Stampin' Up and their wonderful color coordination.  Everything always matches and you never have to guess if the ink will match the paper or if the DSP (aka pattern paper) will match the cardstock.  With Stampin' Up you can always be sure.  You will find on every pack of DSP (designer series paper) a list of coordinating cardstocks that go with that pack of paper.  How clever is that?

He Is Risen Easter Card featuring Rejoice In Him Stamp Set

 Easter is just around the corner.  What a beautiful celebration of renewed life, a promise to us that we can live again through the rebirth that comes from accepting Christ as your personal Savior and allowing His shed blood to cover our sins.

In this card, I tried to depite the glory of Jesus and yet the rustic time He lived in.

I hope you gained joy from this card knowing what a sacrifice it was for Him (Jesus) to step down from Glory into a world that would reject Him in such a horific way.

But God's will be done!!
